Ephrata wins Midget-Midget LNP Title

Last night at Kunkle Field, the Ephrata Dragons defeated the Penn Manor Comets 3-2 to win the LNP Tournament’s Midget-Midget Division Baseball Crown.

The LNP Tournament determines the championships of Lancaster County summer baseball programs for the midget-midget, junior midget and midget leagues. It encompasses three age groups from 11 to 16. It was founded in 1946 by New Era sports editor George W. Kirchner as the New Era Tournament, it has built summer memories for tens of thousands of ballplayers, including several Major Leaguers, and becomes a season’s goal for hundreds more every spring.

Going into this final, the Ephrata Dragons had allowed only three runs total.

The last Ephrata-area team to win the M-M Title were the Norlanco Redbirds, which was basically an all-star squad from several teams, that won in 2006.

Ryan Bromirski, the Dragons’ starting pitcher threw six-hit ball in a complete game.
