On Saturday, at War Memorial Stadium, the Ephrata Post 429 baseball team defeated Wesleyville 7-0 to win the state American Legion title.

In the 5 game state tournament, Ephrata went 5-0.
Dillon Good was the winning pitcher throwing a shutout on 5-hits with 7 k’s and 2 walks. He finished the tournament with 2 wins, 14 2/3 scoreless innings pitched with 16 K’s to win the Tournament MVP and Outstanding Pitcher awards.
Next up is the Mid-Atlantic Regional Legion Tournament where Ephrata will play Leesburg, Virginia (15-1). It’s a double elimination tournament but only the champion goes to the Legion World Series to be played in North Carolina.
The last team from Lancaster County to make the national regionals was Ephrata in 1990.
The last Region 4 team to win the state title was Hanover in 1999.
Ephrata 429 is 26-5 this summer.
