It was billed as the battle of the new QBs. But it was a tale of two halves.
The first half was dominated by the Manheim Central Barons who scored unanswered 35 points. Sophomore QB Evan Simon threw two touchdowns to his brother Tyler. And running back Tyler Flick scored two touchdowns, then intercepted a ball as a line back on the Warwick 5 yard line. That play was a monumental when you consider the final score. Though you wouldn’t have guessed back in the 2nd quarter when it happened.
At the end of the first half and then in the second, the Warriors scored 27 unanswered points to make it a thriller.
Wilson transfer 6′ 5″ QB Grayson Kline threw two TDs bombs to Carter Forney, one with 1:44 left in the first half.
Big difference in the game was the defensive line of the Barons. They held Warwick to just 94 yards rushing while the Barons ran for 324 yards. The Barons averaged 8 yards per carry to Warwick’s 3.
Player of the Game is Tyler Flick: 21 carries, 261 yards rushing, one interception, two touchdowns.
Next Friday Barons play Donegal at home at 7PM. Warwick plays Garden Spot on the road.
