Cocalico Preview, our Friday game

Cocalico has a very demanding schedule and will need to play great defense, as the teams they play are offensive minded. Such as Governor Mifflin (2-0) this Friday. Mifflin beat Wilson. We will cover this game.

Cocalico put up 69 points last week against Red Land last week. They had over 500 yards on offense.

Should be a lot of running in this game with two veer option running teams.

Blue Ridge Communication posted this preview. It’s worth looking at.

Cocalico has 9 returning juniors on defense and have a new QB with Noah Palm, who had a fantastic debut with 3 TD runs and a passing TD.

This could be a preview of District 3 5A playoff game.

Here’s quick overview of team:

Cocalico Eagles
Coach: Dave Gingrich
Last year’s record: 8-4 overall (6-1 L-L League Section 2)
Key players: DL Joe Bearinger, RB-LB Brandon Brubaker, DL Ben Fromm, TE-DL Brad Heck, OL Josh Hoover, QB-DB Noah Palm
Outlook: Gingrich took home 2016 L-L League Section 2 coach of the year honors after guiding the Eagles to a share of the sectional championship. Brubaker is a true, workhorse back. He ran for 1,443 yards and 14 touchdowns on 249 carries last fall. He’ll carry the rock early and often.
