When Governor Mifflin arrived at Eagles Stadium to play Cocalico tonight, they probably thought that after beating Wilson last Friday, they had a good shot at grabbing a victory even on the road.
That is until they ran into Brandon Brubaker, Cocalico’s senior RB/LB who scored 4 touchdowns in this non-league game. The Eagles (2-0) pumped out 422 yards of total offense enroute to a 42-21 thumping of the Mustangs. Brubaker alone had 151 yards rushing.
Great defense by the Eagles too. Several QB sacks. Conlan Kerschner grabbed an interception and threw a nice pass to Bradley Heck in the 4th quarter on a surprise play that set up a Brubaker TD two plays later.
Sophomore QB Noah Palm ran for a 52-yard TD in the 4th quarter that iced the game for the Eagles.
The Mustangs (2-1) were led by quarterback Kamron Wolfe, who had two touchdown passes, including an 82-yard strike to Bryce Stubler in the third quarter that kept Mifflin close.
