Matthew Lynch scored in each half and Lancaster Mennonite defeated Oley Valley 3-0 in the District 3 2A boys soccer championship game at Hersheypark Stadium Saturday.
Lynch opened the scoring with 13:34 left in the first half and provided a crucial insurance goal with 17:15 remaining for Mennonite (22-1). Lynch scored eight goals in three game tournament.
Oley Valley had some premium chances. Jaeger Frangakis and JP Pierdomenico were stopped during a scramble off a corner that could have tied it with 25 minutes left. Josh Daniels was stopped on a diving save by Carter Hurst late in the first.
Ben Lefever’s goal with 10 minutes left sealed it for Mennonite, which won its fourth district title in the last eight years.
