The ball was flying out of the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers home field today. Five home runs were hit by them, in their 17-5 rout of the Manheim Central Barons.
It was a gorgeous day for baseball. And if you were a Pioneer you had it all. They pounded out 14 hits in the 5 inning game cut short by the 10-run rule.
Aaron Snyder went 4 for 4, including his home run and drove in 7 RBIs. Not to be out done, his teammate Dylan Tyler jacked two home runs and drove in 4 RBIs.
Starting pitcher for the Pioneers was Connor Blantz who pulled up with a sore arm in the second inning. So Aaron Jacoby took over and threw 2 and a third innings for the win, giving up 2 earned runs. He had suffered a dislocated shoulder in the off-season (non-pitching arm) but is working his way back into the rotation.
Other Pioneer home runs were hit by Luke Weigel and Matthew Heiser.
Interview with some Pioneers’ players. The wind was making noise, sorry.
