Township wins 9th L-L Title in a row

The Manheim Township Streaks have won their 9th straight L-L League Lacrosse Championship by defeating Lancaster Country Day/ Lancaster Catholic 14-6 at Lebanon Valley College tonight.

The finals match was played under the threat of rain and sure enough there was a 90 minute rain delay just before the end of the 1st half.

This 9th straight title is under the direction of the same head coach Mark Pinkerton. The Streaks are unbeaten in PIAA play and now have a record of 19-1 this season.

Next up is the District Three tournament play. Both teams are in the tournament. Township gets a first-round bye in the Class 3A field. Lancaster Country Day (13-6) will host Eastern York in Class 2A at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

In the semifinals, Township beat Cocalico 18-9 and Lancaster Country Day/Lancaster Catholic beat Hempfield 17-8.
