Manheim Central’s magical season has come to an end by capturing the silver medal, in the 2A PIAA Volleyball championship match at Penn State’s University Rec Hall.
They took the first set from their opponent Northeastern, who hadn’t lost a set in their last 5 years in the finals. But then Northeastern rallied to take the next 3 sets.
The final score was 3-1, (23-25), (25-13), (25-22), (25-13).
The Northeastern Bobcats (23-0) tied the PIAA record for consecutive boys volleyball championships, equaling the mark set by Havereford from 1966-71.
This is the ninth state championship for Northeastern, and sixth in a row. The Bobcats defeated Manehim Central in the District 3 finals last month 3-0 (25-16), (25-18), (25-13) sweep.
