Catholic beats Vikings for first place

The undefeated Lancaster Catholic Crusaders hit the road Wednesday night and paid a visit to the team they were tied with in Section Three.
When it was over, Catholic was alone in first place, while the Northern Lebanon Vikings seemed outmatched in their 51-25 loss.

Such is high school basketball. Last year, the Vikings were the darlings of the L-L League. Winning both the Section 3 title and a District 3 title.

Tonight however, Kiki Jefferson and Lauren Mills took care of business with 31 points between them. Kiki also had 10 rebounds. But even more importantly, the Crusaders held the Vikings to just 9 points in the first half.

The result erased Northern Lebanon’s personal four-game winning streak over Lancaster Catholic, one that dated back a couple of years. It also snapped the Vikings’ nine-game win streak this season.

Catholic remains undefeated and looks forward to non-league Saturday match up with power house Berks Catholic. Should be a good one.
