Archbishop Carroll beats L-S 77-76 in OT

Heartbreak hotel for the Pioneers of Lampeter-Strasburg. They lose to Archbishop Carroll Patriots in OT in the 4A PIAA state tournament tonight played at Governor Mifflin High School.

The Patriots move on to the District 3 quarterfinals. And the Pioneers’ sterling season comes to an end in the round of 16.

They finished the season with three best record ever at 26-5. They won their first L-L League title after winning Section Two for the third time in a row. They were a District 3-5A quarterfinalist and advanced to the second round of PIAA 5A.

Keyon Butler scored 21 to lead Carroll, while A.J. Hoggard added 19, Justin Anderson 17 and Luke House 13 for the Patriots. Ryan Smith posted 34 points and 22 rebounds to lead Lampeter-Strasburg while Isaac Beers added 11.
