Lancaster Catholic wins District title again

It’s now 60 wins in a row.

It’s also official, Lancaster Catholic (28-0) has won their second District 3, Class 4A championship in a row by defeating Bishop McDevitt 54-39 at Hershey Giant Center.

This is Catholic’s 17th District title.

Jefferson, the 2018 Class 4A Player of the Year and James Madison D-1 recruit, put in a show with a 31-point game and 14 rebounds.

With key members of both sides dealing with foul trouble, No. 2 Bishop McDevitt (21-4) clawed back into the game with a third-quarter rally. Jefferson thwarted the Crusaders’ comeback attempt by scoring nine critical points between the end of the third period and the start of the fourth.

Defending PIAA Class 4A champion Lancaster Catholic draws the seventh-place finisher from District 7 (WPIAL) in its March 9 state tournament opener. Bishop McDevitt plays District 1 runner-up Lower Moreland the same day.
