Catholic’s 62nd win is PIAA record

Lancaster Catholic came out of the gates on fire and did not falter in an emphatic 59-29 victory over Central Valley in a Class 4A second round tilt. The Crusaders jumped out to a 18-2 lead in the first quarter and held a sizable lead until the final buzzer.

The undefeated Crusaders (30-0) will look to keep their postseason run going this Saturday when they will go up against Mifflinburg (25-4) in a quarterfinal match-up. The victory marked a PIAA girls basketball record 62nd consecutive win for the Crusaders.

Kiki Jefferson turned in yet another stellar performance to lead the Crusaders. Jefferson finished with a game-high 26 points, including a perfect 15-for-15 night from the charity stripe. Jaquis Peyton put on a shooting clinic, knocking down 12 of her 14 points from beyond the arc.

The last time the Crusaders lost a game was against Villa Marie in state’s in 2017.
