Crusaders top Blazers 4-1

The defending state champion Lancaster Catholic Crusaders defeated the Lancaster Mennonite Blazers 4-1 on the road under the lights tonight.

A Nick Breznik triple in the top of the third inning set up the first Catholic run when Nick Pisano drove him in with a fielder’s choice ground out.

Coleby Lopatic started for Catholic and went six and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven.

Josh Beck threw one-third of an inning in relief to earn the save for Lancaster Catholic Crusaders Varsity.

Joe Mattes took the loss for Lancaster Mennonite. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out nine and walking one.

Bryce Behmer led the Crusaders Varsity with two hits in three at bats. Matt Oleskowitz had two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.

Dylan Gibble went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Lancaster Mennonite in hits.
