Hempfield walk off win 7-6

Nick Fiore game winning hit:

One of the great rivalries in L-L League baseball added yet another chapter today as Hempfield came back from a 5-run deficit in the 7th inning, to score 6 runs and walk off with a 7-6 win against Manheim Township.

Nick Fiore took an 0-1 fastball and ripped it into right center scoring the tying and winning runs.

This game had it all.

The Streaks pitchers Ben Demarco and Conor Vuchovich struck out 5 batters in the first 4 innings.

Brendon Moshos put the Streaks ahead in the top of the 5th with a 2 RBI double.

In the top of the 6th inning, Streaks’ Colin Fitzgerald tripled to left field. Will Greiner drove him in with an RBI single. They weren’t finished yet.

In the top of the 7th, Colin Yablonski ripped a home run over the left field fence. Streaks led 6-1 going into the bottom of the 7th inning.

But this is Hempfield and they are in first place in Section One for a reason. It’s not over until it’s over and yes I am ripping off a Yogi Berra quote.

The Black Knights sent 8 batters to the plate and scored 6 runs for the win. You can see all of it on the video highlights.

“The hero is really the entire lineup,” Nick Fiore said after the game. His game winning 2-RBI heroic single sent the entire Hempfield team off the charts with excitement.

Enjoy the highlights there were many.
