CV beats Cocalico 6-5

Despite a 6-run deficit in the sixth inning, Cocalico Eagles almost came all the way back, eventually falling 6-5 to Conestoga Valley on Wednesday.

The Eagles scored four runs in the failed comeback.

Conestoga Valley scored on a single by Carson Crouse in the first inning, a single by Gavin Horning in the second inning, and a single by Eddie Hernandez in the second inning.

Cocalico Eagles Varsity scored five runs in the seventh inning. Cocalico Eagles Varsity’s big inning was driven by by Caleb Sturtevant and Austin Ruzika-Porter and a walk by Rhoads.
Conestoga Valley scored four runs in the second inning. Horning, Hernandez, and Nate Scheid each had RBIs in the frame.

CV’s SP Jarrett Imler led went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out five.

Rhoads toed the rubber for Cocalico Eagles Varsity. He went seven innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits, striking out five and walking one.

Sturtevant, Tristan Current, Aiden Sturtevant, and Ruzika-Porter each collected one hit to lead Cocalico Eagles Varsity.

Keegan Martin, Horning, and Hernandez all had multiple hits for Conestoga Valley.
