Barons win 1st District Volleyball title

The Manheim Central Barons have won their first District 3, 2A Volleyball Title.

The No.1 seeded Barons defeated the No.3 seeded York Suburban Trojans 3-0 with set scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-20.

The two teams played each other back on April 11th with York Suburban winning 3-2 in the non-league match.

The Barons net attack included Senior Mason Nissley throwing down 24 kills and Brandyn Musser adding 13 kills. Sophomore Jeremiah Zimmerman had 41 assists.

Last year the Barons came in second in the Lancaster-Lebanon League, District Three and PIAA State tournaments. But tonight they captured the gold.

“It’s awesome,” said Baron senior Mason Nissley, who recently broke the school career record for kills. “I’m so happy right now. It’s great.”

“It’s incredible. It’s a dream come true,” senior Brandyn Musser added. “These last two years, all we got was silver. To finally come out here and get a win this big is huge.”
