Nate Fassnacht, who graduated from Ephrata High School in 2016 and then played for George Washington University, has been drafted in the second round by the Philadelphia Phillies.
He is the fourth Ephrata grad to be drafted by a major league team.
Nate was the 240th pick of the 2019 MLB draft.
He has had a sterling career at George Washington. He finished his junior season as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and team MVP.
He finished the season in the top 50 of all eight offensive categories. The only Divison One player in the country to do that.
In his final season at Ephrata he helped them win their first District 3 title.
