The Cedar Bowl is how the Lebanon Cedars and Cedar Crest Falcons kick off their football seasons.
Cedar Crest has won the game every year since 2011. And 2019, the 48th Cedar Bowl would be no different.
It was Cedar Crest QB Chris Danz’s first game as varsity QB and he threw for 3 TDs to lead Cedar Crest to a 2806 win. He threw 11 of 15 passes for 113 yards.
To say there was pressure is putting it mildly, since he not only replaced the talented four-year QB starter Logan Horn, his dad was also a Cedar Crest quarterback and his grandfather was a football coach at the school. That’s serious pressure.
Danz’s hit Brayden Koehler in a 6-yard TD for his first at QB and then threw a 54-year bomb to Chris Rios for a 54-yard catch and run score early in the second.
His third TD was a 39-yard heave to Cole Miller to give the Falcons a 28-0 lead in the third quarter.
