The 2019 boys soccer season kicked off this week. But before we get involved in this year’s competition take a moment to enjoy the Cocalico Eagles first L-L League Boys Soccer title win last season. Here is that report:
The Cocalico Eagles have won their first boys soccer Lancaster-Lebanon League championship.
They have defeated Lancaster Mennonite Blazers 3-0.
The Section Three champs scored twice 3 minutes into the second half to take the commanding 3-0 lead.
Cocalico’s defense stopped 7 second-half shots to capture their 17th straight win and 14th shutout of the season.
The Eagles (18-1-0) defeated Ephrata 1-0 in the quarterfinals and 3-2 in the semifinals against Manheim Township in double OT.
The Blazers (15-5-0) who finished second in Section Three, defeated Manheim Central 2-0 in the quarterfinals and Warwick 2-0 in the semifinals.
The Blazers have won eight league championships.
