Wk 5: Lebanon upsets Lancaster Catholic

In what is one for the the most surprising games last night, the Lebanon Cedars defeated the defending Section 3 champion Lancaster Catholic Crusaders 30-22.

The special teams kept the Cedars in the game.

Hari Allen recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown in the second quarter. Alex Rufe scored on a 72 yard TD to break a 14-14 tie.

Cedars’ junior QB Isaiah Rodriguez made 13 of 20 passes for 204 yards. One which was a 40-yard TD strike to Alexander Rufe.

Joseph Mejias-Rios added 87 yards on 17 carries on the ground for the Cedars with on TD.

Catholic was led offensively by Jeffery Harley’s 28 carries, 127 yards and three TDs.

Donegal who defeated Ephrata takes over first place in Section 3.

Catholic is in 2nd place, Lebanon in 3rd.
