Barons’ Evan Simon to Rutgers

Senior Manheim Central QB Evan Simon has committed to The Big Ten Conference Rutgers University.

He signed his National Letter of Intent Tuesday.

For the 3 years he led the Barons’ at QB his record was 36-5.

He brought the team to two District 3 titles. And 3 Section Two titles.

He is the all-time Barons’ leader in passing yards, TDs thrown and passed for 8,087 yards.

Only Kyle Smith of Lancaster Catholic has more yards passing in the L-L League.

This past season Simon threw for 2,625 yards, rushing for 930 yards resulting in 40 touchdowns.

Five other L-L League standouts had their first opportunity to sign their NLI with Division I FCS programs on Wednesday: Lancaster Catholic’s Andrew Miklos (Delaware), Cocalico’s Noah Palm (New Hampshire) and a trio of Manheim Township student-athletes in Jon Engel (Lafayette), Harrison Kirk (Colgate) and Ben Mann (Yale).
