Annville-Cleona place kicker Mac Plummer had a season to remember in 2019 while helping the Dutchmen to their first-ever district playoff win.
On August 29th, 2019 he set a new L-L League field goal record by nailing a 54-yarder. He broke his old record of 51 yards.
So when it was time to select the Pennsylvania Football Writers’ All-State Team in 3A, Big Mac Plummer as we call him, was one of two specialists named to the team, this week.
Plummer, a junior, was honored after converting 9 of 12 field goal attempts, including a Lancaster-Lebanon League record 54-yarder against Donegal, and 52 of 53 extra point tries in just his second season as a place kicker. A-C went 7-5 and won the first district playoff game in its history against Hanover.
Plummer also had a 51-yard field goal on his resume this season (in the season opener at Milton Hershey and a 40-yarder that Plummer booted against Pequea Valley in a driving rain storm.
Originally focused on soccer only, Plummer joined the football as a place kicker during his sophomore season. This past season, Plummer led A-C’s soccer team in scoring with 18 goals and 8 assists.
Plummer was one of two Lancaster-Lebanon League players to earn all-state status in 3A, joining Lancaster Catholic offensive lineman Trey Wells.
