Crusaders top ELCO for Section 4 Title

A big shoot out for the Section 4 title took place tonight at LCHS.

In front of a packed house, the Lancaster Catholic Crusaders defeated the ELCO Raiders 65-50 to win the game and title.

Elco fell victim to scoring dry spells at the ends of each of the first two quarters, and never came within six points the rest of the way.

Devon Atkinson led the CRUSADERS with 21 points. Three Crusader players were in double digits. In fact, Lancaster Catholic outscored Elco 38-12 on two-point buckets.

A squeezing defense by the Crusaders created 10 turnovers.

This is the third section title in a row for the Crusaders and their fourth in the last five years.

The L-L League playoffs begin this Friday.

The Crusaders will play McCaskey, the Section One runner-up Monday at home, in the L-L League quarterfinals.

ELCO will play at Warwick Friday against Elizabethtown, the Second Section runner-up in a play-in game.
