Betancourt Wins State Wresting Title

Manheim Central’s Will Betancourt has won his coveted state wresting title.

He defeated Seneca Valley’s Dylan Chappell 4-2 at Hershey’s Giant Center to capture the PIAA Class 3A wrestling championship in the 120 pound weight class.

Chappell had not had one point scored against him in the state tournament.

“It’s been a dream of mine since I began wrestling in grammar school. Not a day went by where I did not think and train for this moment,” Betancourt said.

Betancourt is just the ninth wrestler in Manheim Central’s program history to win a title.

Betancourt’s record as a wrestler at Manheim Central is 147 wins with only 12 losses.

He has won the District 3 wrestling title 4 times.
