L-S beats Elco for District 3, 4A Crown

District 3, 4A Football Title Game:

Both teams came into this championship game with undefeated records.

Lampeter-Strasburg averaged over 50 points per game.

Elco’s biggest chore was to stop the Pioneers’ QB McTaggert from throwing TD bombs all night.

And they did just that holding Lampeter-Straburg to zero points in the first half. Elco led 3-0 at the half.

The Pioneers took the lead 6-3 on a pair of Reidenbaugh field goals.

But it was an Elco fumble recovered by Alex Knapp in the 4th quarter that opened the flood gates for the Pioneers.

McTaggert proceded to thread the TD needle with a pair of them to Heyser which led to a 20-3 win for the Pioneers on their home field.

The win gives the Pioneers the District 3, 4A title.
