Now they are chasing Manheim Township in Section One for first place, who also has a rich history of success. And they too have an alumni player in the major leagues. That player is Cam Gallagher. He plays for the Kansas City Royals
In its race for first place, Cedar Crest took care of Penn Manor by scoring 6 runs in the 4th inning to put away the game.
Lou Hostetter doubled on the first pitch he saw to plate a run. Lyter then singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Krall continued the succession of hits with a single on the first pitch scoring another run.
This continued as Boyd singled on the first pitch of his at bat scoring another run.
B Wagner took the win for Cedar Crest pitching five and a third innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out three.
Z Johnson threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Johnson recorded the last five outs to earn the save for Cedar Crest.
Zach Clare took the loss for Penn Manor. He went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking zero.
The Comets Hunter Sipel went 2-for-4 to lead Penn Manor in hits.
Cedar Crest collected 12 hits on the day. Reinhart, Boyd, and Hostetter each had multiple hits for Cedar Crest. Reinhart led Cedar Crest with three hits in four at bats.
