Only one day left until the 2021-’22 L-L League football season kicks off.
Here is Friday’s schedule. Elco’s game has been postponed due to Covid outbreak.
Video highlights Columbia’s returning QB Robert Footman. Columbia opened last season winning its first 4 games then dropped 4 in a row in league play to miss the playoffs by one game.
They hope to use last season’s close call as a motivating factor as this season begins. And it won’t hurt to have the best returning QB in Section 4.
All Friday night games begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
The L-L League has moved to four sections rather than three.
The sections are set up like this:
SECTION ONE: Cedar Crest, Hempfield, Manheim Township, McCaskey, Penn Manor, Wilson.
SECTION TWO: Cocalico, Conestoga Valley, Elizabethtown, Manheim Central, Solanco, Warwick.
SECTION THREE: Ephrata, Donegal, Garden Spot, Lancaster Catholic, Lebanon, Lampeter-Strasburg.
SECTION FOUR: Annville-Cleona, Columbia, Elco, Northern Lebanon, Octorara, Pequea Valley.
The league went with four sections of six teams each, with one mandatory crossover game and four non-league games. So programs will be tasked with finding a Week Four nonleague opponent. That’s new.
