Donegal trims L-S 1-0, going to finals


Pucillo Field, Millersville University: The winning run scored on a squeeze play when Rachel Mummau bunted across Rachel Robinson in the fourth inning from third base. That was the only scoring in the game as Makyla Yoder threw a 3-hit shutout helping the Donegal Indians beat the L-S Pioneers 1-0 in the District 3-AAA semifinals matchup. Jordan Weaver pitched a great game for L-S hurling a 2-hitter. And Freshman SP Makyla Yoder threw a complete game shutout for Donegal. These two teams battled it out for the L-L League Championship a week earlier when the Pioneers won 7 to 5.

This was only the Pioneers’ second loss of the season. It was the fourth time these two teams played. With the win, the Indians clinch a spot in next week’s state tournament will play the winner of Kenard-Dale and Shippensburg game in the championship game at Messiah College’s Starry Field on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. If you’d like a copy o this video rail me at gmbmail@aol.com
