The Solanco Golden Mules and the Lower Dauphin Falcons played a ten-inning game today for the right to move on to the District 3-AAAA softball finals. In the end the Falcons outlasted the Mules 4 to 2. After both teams scored early, the game was tied after regulation play and the international rules went into effect.
Meaning extra inning play would start with a runner on second base.
The Falcon’s Fahringer scored on an error on Jamie Knaub’s RBI groundout. With two out Stoner tripled to deep center, scoring Knaub, and crossed the plate on Emily Lingle’s single.
Heidelbaugh took her place on second in the bottom of the tenth, scoring on Kerri Mauger’s single. With runners on first and third with two out Ault maintained an 11-pitch at bat finally flying out deep to center for the last out.
Lower Dauphin will play Cumberland Valley for the championship at Millersville University Friday May 30 at 6:30 P.M.
