Cue the broken record; the Manheim Township Blue Streaks are the District 3 girls’ lacrosse champions.
Missing some of their best scorers, Township was able to put together a championship performance against Lancaster Country Day/Lancaster Catholic to pull out a 15-12 win. The win claims Township’s sixth straight district title.
The Streaks by no means coasted through the game however. Trailing 3-2 early in the first half, Township’s Hannah Wertz had an apparent game-tying goal waved off due to a dangerous follow through. The Cougars would take that break and run with it; scoring two more goals within the next 90 seconds to open up a 5-2 lead.
Township then flipped the switch; going on a 7-1 run to end the half and take a 9-6 lead into halftime. Video highlights are compliments of GameTimePa.com.
