It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Cocalico ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Garden Spot Spartans 6-5. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.<\/p>\n

Colten Stoltzfus made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. He has been consistent: he hasn’t given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter’s box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.<\/p>\n

In other batting news, Aiden Davis was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Connor Horning, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.<\/p>\n

Cocalico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.<\/p>\n

Cocalico’s victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Garden Spot, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That’s put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.<\/p>\n

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cocalico will welcome Eastern Lebanon County at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Garden Spot, they will take on Lebanon at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.<\/p>\n
