Elco going to District 3, Class 4A Finals

ELCO’s catcher and lead off hitter Jeremy Eck hit a two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning with two outs, to give the Raiders the lead and eventual win in the PIAA District 3 Class 4A semifinal game against Eastern York in Wrightsville on Tuesday. ELCO won, 3-2.

Riley Blatt and Dakota Smith scattered 10 hits for 2 runs for the win and save. The key was that they gave up zero walks.

The win clinches a Raiders presence in the Class 4A PIAA state
tournament slot.

The third seeded Raiders district final will be played against sixth seeded Wyomissing.

The 15-7 Raiders have never won a District baseball title and the last time they played for one was in 2007.
