PIAA SOFTBALL QUARTERFINALS June 10th:

Keiva Middleton threw a two-hit shutout this afternoon to carry the Pioneers to the PIAA Class 5A softball semifinals.

Lampeter-Strasburg defeated Springfield (Delco) 5-0 at Avon Grove High School.

Alley Heston got both hits off of Middleton, a double and single. But that was all she gave up.

The Pioneers are now (27-1) advanced to Monday’s state semifinals where the will play West Scranton at a location yet to be decided.

Middleton was pitching in trouble in the second inning when three L-S errors put runners on second and third with no outs.

But she pitched out of it. Her third baseman Emily Platt threw a runner out at home and Middleton struck out the next two players.

The video highlights are the Pioneers’ District 3 Class 5A win played last week at Millersville U.

Here are the seniors for whom this will be the last Pioneers’ chase for the state gold. L-S won the state gold in 2018 and came in second winning the silver in 2019.
