Friday night was the opening round of District 3 football playoffs.

There were seven L-L League football teams playing. The other teams who received a BYE will play next week.

In a Class 5A first-round game the Cocalico Eagles crushed the Elizabethtown Bears 42-2.

Dover beat Garden Spot 40 to 21.

In Class 4A York Suburban defeated Donegal 40-6.

Class 3A saw Hamburg defeat Upper Dauphin 49-35.

In Class 2A Annville-Cleona beat Camp Hill 42-13 and will play in the finals next week against Trinity. Class 2A is a small field of teams participating.
