McDevitt tops Barons for District title

The Manheim Central Barons lost to Bishop McDevitt Crusaders 40-0 Friday night in the PIAA District 3, Class 4A title game.

McDevitt held Brycen Armold, the Barons’ great running back to just 40 yards in the game.
He has more than 2,000 yards rushing on the year.

McDevitt raced for 277 yards rushing and 145 yards passing.

The Barons achieved only 5 first downs in the game and 40 yards rushing on the ground. And gained only 23 yards passing.

The big time player for McDevitt was Marquese Williams who scored 3 TDS while running 250 yards.

Jaeri Rawlison picked off the Barons’ QB for a 67-yard TD, his seventh defensive TD this season.

Rico Scott scored 2 TDs for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders (11-1) and Barons (10-2) were the top two seeded teams respectively in the Class 4A bracket and each had 61 wins in football playoffs. Now McDevitt takes the lead with 62.

This is Bishop McDevitt’s, second District Championship in a row. They now have won 16 District Championships in school history. The Manheim Central Barons have won 18 District Titles.
