Columbia wins L-L League Championship

The Columbia Tide have defeated the undefeated Lebanon Cedars 51-44 to win the L-L League girls basketball title.

This is their first such title in 28 years.

The game was played at Mannheim Township and it was a packed house. These schools have two of the most loyal fan bases in the L-L League.

Columbia went on a 15-0 scoring run as Brie Drouge had a game high 20 points.

Lebanon came with 3 points late in the 3rd quarter but Columbia pulled away for the win.

Brooke Drouge nailed a trey to put Columbia up by 8 points.

The Drouge twins are the daughters of Margerie Droege, who also played basketball for Columbia and was on the team that won the 1995 title.

Columbia has now won 15 games in a row.

For Lebanon the Section One winner, it was their first loss of the season. Their record is now 24-1 as they get ready for the District 3, Class 6A playoffs. They are the third seed.

Columbia, the Section Four winner head to the District 3, Class 3A playoffs with a 22-3 record as the number two seed.
