No. 2 Lancaster Mennonite secured its fourth straight PIAA District III Class 2A Championship on Wednesday after a nail-biting 53-44 victory over No. 1 Halifax.
Lancaster Mennonite was victorious, but not without pushback from Halifax. At the end of the second quarter, Lancaster Mennonite only held a one-point 20-19 lead.
Lancaster Mennonite posted a 2-pointer to open the third quarter and give their lead some cushion. However, by the end of the third Halifax had cut their lead to just seven points.
Lancaster Mennonite was able to hold on and earned a 53-44 win to hoist the PIAA District III Class 2A for the fourth consecutive year.
