The Solanco softball team has won the District 3, Class 5A semifinal matchup against Shippensburg 12-2.

The Golden Mules starting pitcher Kira Roark can absolutely pitch. She held Shippensburg to 3 hits. But she can also hit.

In the bottom of the second inning, she came to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd base.

She promptly ripped a fast ball to left field for a 3-run home run. And did so as a left-handed hitter. Yeah she does it all.

The entire team can hit and field as well hence their 19-3 record after today. They had 14 hits in the game.

They are also an agrresive team. They take the extra base, they tag up, they put pressure on the defense and force their opponents to play their best at all times.

They won the Section Two title in the Lancaster Lebanon softball league this season.

And now they will head to the finals in the District 3, Class 5A tournament with their 19-3 record.

The game will be played at Millersville University softball field this Thursday at 6:15 P.M.

It should be fun.
