Hempfield defeated Ephrata 9-3 to capture the District 3, Class 6A baseball championship title.

The game was played in First Energy Stadium in Reading, PA.

The Black Knights’ winning pitcher Logan Harelson gave up only 2 hits and 2 unearned runs while striking out 10 batters for the victory.

Brody Genhard pitched the 7th inning for Hempfield.

Brayden Hostetter had 2 hits and 3 RBIs for Hempfield.

Ephrata’s Dillon Shortuse and Landry Weidner each had one RBI.

The state PIAA Baseball Tournament is next week.

Hempfield played Mannheim Township in the L-L League Title game but lost 5-4 on May 13th.

They were the Section One winners.
