The Hempfield Black Knights (22-60 took down the Downingtown West Whippets with a 9-7 victory, advancing Hempfield into the STATE PIAA BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Down 4 to 1 in the 4th inning Hempfield 3 runs to tie the game thanks to key hits by Brody Gebhard, Logan Dougherty and Charles Sheerer hits and Josh Toole’s sacrifice fly.

In the fifth inning after two hitters were beaned, the Black Knights took the lead with key hits.

Harrison and Gebhard split the pitching for Hempfield.

The Championship game is against La Salle College HS (24-3) on Thursday June 13th, at Penn State University. Game time is slated for 4:30 PM!
