Buckskins beat Governor Mifflin

Conestoga Valley Buckskins remain undefeated and in a tie for first place in Section 2 after defeating Governor Mifflin 28-21 Friday October 4th.

Governor Mifflin lost against Conestoga Valley back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs have now taken an ‘L’ in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Conestoga Valley’s Sawyer Esbenshade, who rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes for Conestoga Valley. Those 94 rushing yards gave Esbenshade a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Teagan Ruble, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Governor Mifflin now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Conestoga Valley, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Governor Mifflin will host Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lebanon is coming into the match with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Governor Mifflin will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Conestoga Valley, they will head out to challenge Elizabethtown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Conestoga Valley’s defense has only allowed 8.7 points per game this season, so Elizabethtown’s offense will have their work cut out for them.
