L-S wins moves on to PIAA Finals

PIAA FOOTBALL Class 4A: Semifinals:

Lampeter-Strasburg had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn’t miss a beat now that it’s playoff time. They managed a 20-16 win over the Thomas Jefferson Jaguars on Friday. This was payback for the Pioneers, who suffered a 44-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lampeter-Strasburg was led to victory by Caileb Howse and Dominic Brown. Howse rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown, while Brown rushed for 61 yards.

The victory for Lampeter-Strasburg keeps them at an undefeated 14-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.6 points per game. As for Thomas Jefferson, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-1.

Lampeter-Strasburg will challenge Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lampeter-Strasburg’s defense has only allowed 10.4 points per game this season, so Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic’s offense will have their work cut out for them. Thomas Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
