Warwick’s Reber wins PIAA Gold 200M

March 14: Lititz Christian Sophomore Brody Reber brought home the gold on Friday in the PIAA Class 3A Swimming Championship at Bucknell University. Reber, competing for Warwick High School in the 200-yard individual medley, touched the wall in 1:48.94 to finish first. He was seeded second after the preliminaries, but nosed out top seed Blaise Hofmann of Central Bucks West for the title.

On Saturday in the 100-yard backstroke, Reber finished forth posting a time of 49.17. Although disappointed in his backstroke finish, Reber completed the weekend with marked improvement over his first showing at States a year ago. Last year, Reber placed 13th in the 100 butterfly and didn’t make it out of the preliminaries in the 500 freestyle. With two top-5 finishes this year including a gold medal, the LC sophomore has a lot to celebrate.

His gold medal was his first state medal ever.
