District 3 Baseball Playoffs: Five teams from the Lancaster-Lebanon League have advanced to the semifinals of District 3 play.
Hempfield defeated Manheim Township 4-2 to remain undefeated on the season. They will play Cedar Cliff in the District 3, Class 6A semifinals on Thursday.

Bradyen Hostetter hit a 3-run home run to put Hempfield ahead in the game. Hempfield is now sports a 22-0 record this season. Manheim Township is 15-7 on the year.
Brody Gebhard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn’t tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
Alex Miller was on the mound for Manheim Township.
This was Hempfield’s 16th straight at home win dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Manheim Township, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Ephrata defeated Wilson 6-4. Lampeter-Strasburg defeated Manheim Central 2-1, Elizabethtown defeated Lower Dauphin 2-1 and Conestoga Valley defeated Exeter Township 7-6 to advance to the semifinals.
