Week 2: As the clock ticked down, the Hanover football team turned up the pressure.
The Nighthawks had trailed Annville-Cleona for the entire second half at Sheppard and Myers Stadium. The Dutchmen took a three-point lead on the final play of the first half with a 35-yard field goal by Cian Soliday, and neither team had broken the stalemate after the break.
Deficit though it might have been, it was workable. The Nighthawks were only three points behind, and a comeback seemed within reach.
Hanover wanted a win. Annville-Cleona had different plans.
A field goal and two interceptions decided Annville-Cleona’s narrow victory over the Hanover Nighthawks in a close week two contest on Thursday night.
