After a scoreless halftime draw, fifth-seeded Cocalico buried a pair of second-half goals to pull away 2-0 over No. 12 Shippensburg in the first round of the District 3 Class 3A boys soccer tournament on Monday.

Cocalico Boys Soccer: After dominating possession for most of the game and winning the battle of “Shots on Goal” & corner kicks… the Eagles’ David Pierdomenico re-directed a ball into the side netting (65′) to give Cocalico the 1-0 lead with 15:36 left in regulation.

It was Pierdomenico’s 2nd Goal of the Season! Eagles would score minutes later & go onto win 2-0 over #12 Shippensburg.

Three minutes and 30 seconds later, Cody Beamenderfer inserted a corner that was headed in by Ty Wealand to double up 2-0.

With the win, the Eagles will travel to No. 4 Northern, a 1-0 winner over No. 13 Middletown, in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
