Volleyball District 3, Class 4A Finals:

Unbeaten Wilson had to go five sets, but the Bulldogs defeated Hempfield Thursday night at Central York High School to win the District 3 Class 4A girls volleyball championship, the first in the program’s history.

Although they fell in the fourth (25-22), Wilson pushed history aside with a 15-13 final set to win the school’s first District III 4A girls volleyball championship.

Wilson is now 1-3 in District 3 girls volleyball championship matches. Hempfield is 17-6 in its 23 titles matches. Only 2025 Class 2A champion Delone Catholic has more appearances in a championship match with 24

Redcay had 7 digs, 2 assists and 1 ace, and Kayla Faller had 1 ace and 1 dig.

Hempfield will play the District 12 winner in the first round of the PIAA playoffs.
