The Penn Manor Comets have won the District 3, Class 3A Field Hockey championship.
It was a brilliant PIAA District III Class 3A championship game.
Penn Manor led by a pair of goals, only to see Mechanicsburg knot the score almost five minutes into the fourth quarter.
Then in the 2nd Overtime, the Comets’ ace Kelby Dings scored the difference, giving Penn Manor a hard fought 3-2 win over Mechanicsburg in D3, 3A Field Hockey final
The teams traded opportunities through the rest of regulation, through the first overtime and deep into the second. Finally, despite having a player short because of a penalty, Penn Manor took advantage of a clean break and converted with 2:36 left in the second overtime to capture the 2025 3A field hockey championship.
It was the seventh overall title for the Comets, the first since 2017. Mechanicsburg had not allowed a goal throughout the district tournament, just missed its first district championship.
