Congrats to head coach Rick Prete (7th season) and the Roman Catholic High School football team from the Philadelphia Catholic League as the Cahillites beat Central Pennsylvania powerhouse Bishop McDevitt from Harrisburg, 28-6 in the PIAA 5A state championship game Friday night @ Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.

Roman ends the historic season 12-3.

1st-ever PIAA high school football state title for Roman Catholic.
It was a rematch of last season’s 5A state title game won by McDevitt in overtime, 34-31.
21st PIAA high school football state title for District-12 (Philadelphia Catholic/public League).
District-12 teams are 21-14 in PIAA state championship games.
McDevitt falls to 3-5 in PIAA state title games.
District-3 teams (Southcentral PA) are now 16-22 in PIAA state title games.
